Terms of Service
1. Who we are and what these terms are
These terms are an agreement between you and Parallax Arc, the independent developer of the mobile game Odd Physics ("we", "us"), about your use of the game and its online features (together, the "Game"). You can reach us at parallaxarc.games@gmail.com.
By installing or playing the Game you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Game.
Our Privacy Policy explains what personal data we process and why. You can also read it in the Game (Settings › Privacy policy). It is a separate document; these terms do not change it.
2. Who can play
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Game. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use the Game only with the permission of a parent or guardian, who accepts these terms for you.
3. The Game
Odd Physics is a puzzle game. You can play without signing in. Your game is kept on our servers under an account for this installation of the Game (a guest account), created the first time you play; while the Game cannot reach our servers, your progress is kept on your device.
Some features are online:
- Linking an account (optional). You can link your Google Play Games account (Game Center on iPhone). A linked account keeps your progress, Premium and Aether with that account, so you can restore them on a new device or after reinstalling the Game. The first time an account is linked you may receive a small welcome gift.
- Leaderboards and leagues. Players are placed in weekly leagues (with promotion and demotion), a monthly board and an all-time board. Daily Challenges count for leagues when solved on their own day. Every solution is checked on our servers before it scores.
- Player names. Your name on the leaderboards is two words picked by the Game (for example "Silent Warden"), with a number when that pair is already taken. You cannot type a name; you can roll for another one. Names are unique.
- Aether, Premium and VIP (section 8) and ads (section 9).
We may add, change, pause or remove features at any time, including leagues, how points are worked out, how many hints a puzzle allows, and the prices and contents of items, and we may correct or reset leaderboards.
4. Your licence to play
We give you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and play the Game on devices you own or control, for your own entertainment, as these terms allow. The Game is licensed, not sold; nothing in these terms gives you ownership of the Game or any part of it.
5. Fair play
You agree not to:
- cheat, or use bots, scripts, modified or re-signed copies of the Game, automation, forged requests, or anything else that gives you points, ranks, items or rewards you did not earn by playing;
- exploit a bug to gain an advantage (please tell us about bugs you find);
- interfere with, overload or attack our servers, or probe them for weaknesses;
- copy, decompile, reverse engineer or extract the Game's code, puzzles or assets, except where the law gives you that right regardless of these terms;
- buy, sell or trade accounts, items or leaderboard positions, or use the Game for anything unlawful.
6. Your account
Linking is done through your Google Play Games or Game Center account; we do not ask for a password, email address or phone number. Keep your device and that account secure: what happens through them is treated as done by you.
Deleting your account. You can delete your account at any time in the Game (Settings › Account › Delete account, or Delete my data if you have not linked one) or by email (section 15), as explained on our Account Deletion page. Deleting it erases the game on the device you delete it from at once, and withdraws your account from the Game at once; 14 days later your account and everything in it is erased from our servers: your progress, name, rankings, awards, VIP level and the Aether held on your account. Until then you can undo it by loading your account again in the Game (a guest account only on the same device, before the Game is uninstalled); after that it cannot be undone, and if you link again you start as a new player. Aether and other items you bought that can be used up are lost with it. Premium bought through Google Play stays with your Google account, and the Game restores it once the deletion is complete (or at once if you load your account again within the 14 days). Purchase records are kept in anonymised form where the law requires. An account that has not been used for 24 months is deleted in the same way, and a guest account with no purchase after 90 days without use.
7. Ending or limiting your access
If we reasonably believe you have broken these terms (especially section 5), or we must for legal or security reasons, we may warn you, remove you or your points from leaderboards, correct your points, items or wallet, change your name, or suspend or close your account. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will tell you why.
You can stop using the Game at any time by uninstalling it, and delete your account as described in section 6.
We may stop offering the Game or its online features. If we do, we will give reasonable notice in the Game where we can. The Game itself keeps working offline, with the progress, Premium and Aether on your device.
8. Aether, Premium, VIP and other purchases
- What you buy. The Game sells packs of Aether, the Game's currency, which you spend in the Game on hints, skips and other items, and Premium, a one-time purchase that removes the ads between levels and adds daily Aether and other extras (its contents are described in the Shop when you buy it). Purchases earn VIP coins, and you can also put Aether into your VIP progress; VIP levels give small extras in the Game and cannot be bought or sold on their own. Aether, VIP coins and levels, Premium and any other items are a licence to use them in the Game. They are not money, have no cash value, cannot be exchanged for money or transferred, and cannot be sold.
- Payment is handled by Google Play (the App Store on iPhone) under its own terms. We never receive your card or payment details. Prices are shown in the Shop as the store gives them, including any taxes it applies.
- Accounts. Anything can be bought without linking an account. A linked account restores Premium, your Aether and your VIP level on a new device or after reinstalling the Game; without one, Aether you bought stays with this installation of the Game and is lost if you uninstall it or lose the device. Premium bought through Google Play is restored by the Game either way.
- Using items. Aether is used up when you spend it, and hints and skips when you use them. We may change how many hints a puzzle allows, what things cost in Aether and how items and VIP work, but we will not take away Aether or items you bought, except under section 7 or after a refund.
- Refunds. Refunds are handled by the store under its refund policy (for Google Play, see Google Play's refund policy). If a purchase is refunded or reversed, we remove what it gave, including its Aether (or what was bought with it) and its VIP coins. Digital items are delivered as soon as you buy them; where the law gives you a right to cancel a purchase of digital content, you agree to immediate delivery and accept that the right to cancel ends once delivery starts, unless the law says otherwise.
- Problems. If you paid but did not receive an item, use Restore in the Shop, or email us with your order number (section 15).
9. Ads
The Game shows ads served by Google AdMob: optional rewarded videos (in exchange for Aether, a skip or a Continue, a few times a day) and full-screen ads between levels for players who have not bought Premium. A reward is given only when the video has played to its end. Ads come from third parties, who are responsible for their content; their use of data is covered in our Privacy Policy and Google's policies.
10. Ownership
The Game, including its code, puzzles, artwork, music, sounds, text and names, belongs to us or our licensors and is protected by law. These terms give you no right to use our names or branding. If you send us feedback or ideas, you let us use them freely without owing you anything.
11. Changes to the Game and to these terms
We update the Game from time to time. We may also change these terms; when a change is important, we will tell you in the Game before it takes effect. The "Last updated" date at the top shows the current version. If you keep playing after a change takes effect, you accept the new terms; if you do not accept them, please stop playing and, if you wish, delete your account.
12. The Game is provided "as is"
We work to keep the Game running well, but it is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we do not promise that it, its online features or the leaderboards will always be available or free of errors, or that points and rankings will never be corrected or reset.
13. Limits on our liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for loss of data, progress or rankings, arising from your use of the Game, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us for the Game in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud, and nothing removes the rights consumer law gives you.
14. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes will be heard by the courts of Chennai, India. If you live in a country whose consumer laws give you the right to bring a claim where you live, or other rights that cannot be removed by contract, those rights still apply. Please contact us first: most problems can be solved by email.

16. General
If a part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest stays in force. If we do not enforce a right straight away, we can still enforce it later. You may not transfer your rights under these terms; we may transfer ours to someone who takes over the Game, and will tell you in the Game if we do.
